Position Overview:
As the Head Chef at Kahwit Mayssa, you will bring your culinary expertise and leadership skills to oversee our kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and service. You will be responsible for crafting exceptional menus that celebrate Lebanese cuisine while incorporating international elements, creating a unique culinary journey for our guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Menu Development: Design and innovate diverse menus that showcase the best of Lebanese and international cuisines, ensuring seasonal availability and customer preferences are considered.
- Leadership & Team Management: Lead, mentor, and inspire the kitchen team, fostering a positive and collaborative working environment that encourages growth and creativity.
- Quality Control: Maintain impeccable food quality and hygiene standards, ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations.
- Kitchen Operations: Oversee daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation, ensuring efficiency and excellence in all aspects.
- Inventory & Stock Management: Manage inventory and stock control processes, utilizing efficient requisition management systems to minimize waste and control costs.
- Budgeting & Cost Control: Work collaboratively with management to develop and adhere to budgetary guidelines, maximizing profitability without compromising quality.
- Training & Development: Conduct regular training sessions to enhance the skills and knowledge of kitchen staff, ensuring everyone is equipped to perform at their best.
- Problem Solving: Address any challenges that arise in the kitchen swiftly and effectively, maintaining smooth operations even under pressure.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Head Chef in environments specializing in Lebanese and international cuisines.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to effectively supervise and motivate a diverse kitchen team.
- Experience in stock control and efficient requisition management, with a strong knowledge of inventory and stock management systems.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain high food quality and hygiene standards consistently.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, with fluency in both English and Arabic.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating resilience and adaptability.
