Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook bakery items according to company standards, ensuring high quality and consistency.
  • Manage and train commis chefs, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Monitor portion sizes and control waste to maintain and improve profit margins.
  • Participate actively in the training and development of junior staff members.
  • Ensure that all bakery products are prepared and delivered in accordance with operational methods and hygiene standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and ensure the proper maintenance of all bakery equipment before and after service.
  • Oversee stock rotation and storage conditions to uphold freshness and quality.
  • Ensure all Mise en place is freshly prepared and ready on time for service.
  • Support team activities and assist with other duties as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
  • Attend training courses or seminars to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Immediately report any potential or real hazards to upper management for prompt resolution.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar position within a bakery or pastry kitchen.
  • Proficiency in both English and Arabic languages.
  • Strong understanding of baking techniques and a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and train junior staff members.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and food safety.
